Typical pests covered by Snap Pest Control involve ants, roaches, bed bugs, fleas, flies, and wasps/bees/hornets.
As with most pests there is usually an access point into homes, which makes them conducive to a particular pest problem. Knowing why a pest problem has developed involves getting a firm grasp of the history surrounding the issue and so the problem is tackled by answering questions as follows:
- Are the any moisture issues at the home?
- Have you noticed ants with wings?
- What changed at the home over the course of the last few months?
- Have you inspected your mattress or box spring for any signs of bed bugs?
- What colour are the roaches?
- Where do you live?
- Are the ants sluggish and in every room of the home?
- Were there trees or decks cut down last year?
Knowing the answers to some of these questions helps us to determine which procedures are necessary to get the insect pest under control.
Snap techs focus on eliminating conditions, which helped create the initial pest problem. Fixing leaks that give insects much needed moisture, sealing harbourage areas, closing and cutting off entry points and actively finding and removing nests are keys to a successful program.
All services are conducted by licensed techs, which are trained in proper insecticide application. Most insecticides are either in dust or liquid form. The typical procedure for bed bugs as an example involves an in depth inspection followed by a vacuum, steam, spray and then an insecticidal dust as a residual.
Vacuuming helps to remove insects before they are spread around by insecticides or blown off surfaces by the use of steam. Sprays provide great knock down properties as well as being able to being able to flow more readily into a crack or crevice such as a baseboard, bed frame rail as a liquid. Finally, most if not all treatments are followed up with a dusted insecticide as a residual.
